In Condom there are a number of excellent restaurants and a good selection of shops and a twice weekly market - where local producers sell their cheeses, bread, cakes and other produce.

The local town is officially called 'Condom en Armagnac'. From Le Lavandou, the centre of Condom can be reached in around 5 minutes by car.

Condom has a large Cathedral which dominates the town centre. Condom is one of the largest towns in the Gers Department (32) of France.

Condom is the centre of the Armagnac trade and many distilleries and 'caves' are located in Condom and nearby villages. Many producers are small and sell their Armagnac direct from the door.

In past centuries, supplies of Armagnac were shipped in barrels from the small Port down the Baise River to the Garonne and then to Bordeaux.
