Driving
from the channel ports. Cherbourg, Roscoff and Caen are each
around 500 miles from Le Lavandou. Taking an overnight ferry gives an early
start in France and you should arrive at Le Lavandou late afternoon,
depending on stops and traffic.
Flying
from the UK to the airports at Bordeaux, Toulouse (both 90 mins) or
Carcassonne (2 hours). Airlines include British Airways, Air France,
Easyjet, BMI baby and Flybe. Ryanair flies to Carcassonne. The regional
airline Aerocondor has three flights a day from Paris Orly to Agen.
All the main car rental
companies have counters in the airport terminals and and their cars within a
few minutes' walk.
It is also possible to take
trains from Toulouse to Agen and Auch
and from Bordeaux to Agen,
both of which are around 45 minutes from Le Lavandou by car or taxi.
Train from London or Paris
to Agen
station, around 45 minutes from Le Lavandou. Several major car hire
companies within a few minutes walk. From London, take the Eurostar to Lille
or Paris (quicker) to transfer to a SNCF TGV service to Agen.
